"Box Man" in three different versions, two from this year (newly-arranged/rerecorded) and one from back in 2018. This will be released on what would have been Abe-san's 100th birthday, March 7.

Note that I originally wrote this song in 2015 (a cappella, lyrics and vocal melody-only), arranged it on an acoustic guitar in 2016, and rerecorded it via LOGIC in an "electronica style" with beats, etc. for the first time in 2018 (i.e. track 2 of this release). I have since done many different arrangements of it, but I thought that more than three versions of the same song could be "too much" for a single/EP, so please do a search for them if interested. They are published and floating about here and there...

I was inspired to rearrange and rerecord "Box Man" this year when I learned that there are various events currently occurring in Tokyo for the "centennial" of Kōbō Abe's (安部公房) birth, commemorating his life, literature, and art (he was also a photographer, a playwright, and an electronic composer). Further, a previously-unpublished novel, "Flying Man" (飛ぶ男), discovered on a lone floppy disk, was published on February 28 this year, and I have just started reading it...
